• Generated or scanned barcode data
• Your saved barcodes or PLU lookups
• Personal information or contact details
• Location data or usage patterns
• Device identifiers or analytics data
• Photos or camera data beyond barcode scanning
• iCloud or account information

Local Data Storage

WatchBar stores all data locally on your devices:

• iPhone Storage: All generated barcodes, scan history, and app settings are stored locally using iOS's secure storage mechanisms
• Apple Watch Storage: Synced data is stored locally on your watch using watchOS secure storage
• Data Sync: iPhone and Apple Watch sync occurs directly between your devices using Apple's Watch Connectivity framework - no external servers involved
• Data Export: When you export data, it's generated locally and shared only where you choose to send it

Camera and Scanning

WatchBar's scanning functionality:

• Camera access is used exclusively for barcode scanning
• Camera frames are processed locally on your device
• No photos or video are saved unless you explicitly choose to do so
• Scanned data is stored locally and never transmitted to external servers

Network Usage

WatchBar includes limited network functionality:

• URL Processing: When scanning QR codes containing URLs (like Walmart or Amazon product pages), the app may fetch the webpage to extract UPC codes. This is done securely and only when you scan such codes
• App Store Updates: Standard iOS app update checks through the App Store
• No Analytics: We do not use any analytics services or tracking

Data You Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Export: Export your data in multiple formats (JSON, XML, plain text)
• Delete: Delete individual items or clear all data at any time
• Backup: Your data is backed up through iOS device backups (iCloud or iTunes) under your control
• Transfer: When you get a new device, your data transfers through standard iOS device setup

Apple Watch Integration

Our Apple Watch integration maintains the same privacy standards:

• Data syncs directly between your iPhone and Apple Watch
• No external servers or services are involved in the sync process
• Watch complications display only the data you choose
• All watch data is stored locally on your Apple Watch

Third-Party Services

WatchBar minimizes third-party dependencies:

• App Store: Distributed through Apple's App Store with their privacy policies
• URL Processing: When processing QR codes with URLs, we may access those websites directly but do not share your information with them
• No Analytics or Advertising: We don't use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services

Children's Privacy

WatchBar is safe for users of all ages:

• We don't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13
• The app doesn't require account creation or personal details
• All functionality works without any data collection

Security

We implement security best practices:

• All data storage uses iOS and watchOS secure storage mechanisms
• Network requests (when needed) use secure HTTPS connections
• No user authentication or account systems to compromise
• Regular security updates through App Store releases

Changes to This Privacy Policy
