Is there a subscription?
No. WatchBar is a one-time $0.99 purchase — no subscriptions, no ads, no in-app purchases.
Does my data sync between devices?
Yes, through your own private iCloud (CloudKit). It's on by default, and you can turn it off in Settings.
There's no separate WatchBar account to create.
What do you collect about me?
No account, no ads, no cross-app tracking. To fix crashes, the app sends anonymous diagnostics through
Firebase Crashlytics — device model, OS version, and crash logs. Scanning happens entirely on your device.
How many barcode formats are supported?
60+ formats for both generating and scanning — the full list lives on the
Features page.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes — WatchBar is a universal app for iPhone and iPad, plus a native Apple Watch app.
Can I protect a barcode?
Yes. Lock any saved code behind Face ID or Touch ID so it only opens for you.
How do I export my data?
Export as JSON, XML, plain text, or CSV from the app, with selective export of saved codes, history,
folders, and tags.
What languages are supported?
Seven: English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese.
How does the Apple Watch app work?
It's a full native app — generate and display saved codes right on your wrist, and Handoff a code
between Watch and iPhone.
Can I automate WatchBar?
Yes — dozens of App Intents & Shortcuts (which return the barcode image), a watchbar:// URL scheme, and
a system-wide "Generate Barcode" share action.
